Asked Questions

  • How do I choose the right perfume?
Choosing a perfume can be tough, but the experts are here to help you find a fragrance you'll love for years. Do your research - look for perfume and fragrance houses with meaning and a cause that is close to your heart. Sample your scents - short list your fragrances and sample them at your local department store. Sit with it overnight - Fragrances change with our individual body odor and can change over the course of the day so be patient. Pick the perfect one - The one that blends with your personality is the one you choose.
  • What is the difference between EDP / EDT and COLOGNE?
These descriptions are used to identify the strength or concentration of oil in a fragrance. T he concentrations can vary from fragrance to fragrance but here is an average guide. · Eau de Parfum (EDP) – 8-15% · Eau de Toilette (EDT) – 4-8% · Cologne (EDC) – 2-4% Our perfumes are EDP meaning they have the highest concentrate of perfume, last longer and one spray is enough to last your whole day.
  • What is the right way to apply perfume?
Spray on your ‘hot spots’, or pulse points – behind the ears, temples, wrists, nape of neck, back of the knees, in the crease of your elbows, between your breasts, the small of your back, navel area. The blood flows close to the surface in these zones, and heats the fragrance oils. But do be aware of one big no-no: perfume industry ‘insiders’ never, ever rub their wrists together after applying fragrance, because it affects the oils.
  • How long will #loveinabottle last on me?
Our perfume can last between eight to ten hours (or even longer), depending on how you wear it and how dry your skin is. Perfumes dissipate much faster on dry skins, or when the air is particularly dry. From the moment you apply: Our top notes, or ‘head’ notes last around 5-15 minutes before they disappear. Our middle notes last from three to five hours, and make up most of the fragrance. Our base notes(very occasionally referred to as ‘fond’) usually last from eight to ten hours.
  • What is I am allergic to perfume?
If you experience a rash, redness or itching, coughing or problems with breathing, and you’ve established a link to a perfume (or all perfume), you may have to avoid it altogether. If the side effects are serious and last more than 24 hours we suggest seeking the advice of a medical professional. If you still want to enjoy the beauty of perfume you can spray it to the inside hem of your clothing, the underside of your lapel or spray a cotton wool pad and tuck it into your pocket.
  • How long will #loveinabottle EDP 25ml last on me?
The key to long lasting perfume is keeping it away from light and heat. High temperatures affect the top note of the perfume making them musty or sour. A dark spot inside your cupboard or a drawer is the perfect place to store your #loveinabottle. Perfume that’s never been opened and kept in a dark place can last for more than 40 years. Sprays generally last longer so #loveinabottle is your ideal choice. Once the bottle is opened you should get up to 2 years life out of it.
  • What kind of ingredients are found in #loveinabottle ?
All fragrances are made of a blend of natural and synthetic components. The extraordinary skill of our perfumer is to combine these seamlessly and take you on an emotional and sensory journey. Natural matrials are distilled and extracted directly from fruits, herbs and flowers. Synthetic components are man made components that are safe for human use. Synthetic components are sometimes used because the extraction method is too challenging, the scent cannot be extracted from the particular plant or because it hurts an animal. Musk is obtained from a gland in the pouch of skin under the abdomen of the male musk deer. The gland is opened up and squeezed until the musk exudes. This process can take several minutes, after which time the animal is often distressed. Injuries can easily be caused, and wounds are never treated. You may want to make sure that the perfume you are using is cruelty free : ) If not #loveinabottle is a cruelty free alternative that you might like to consider. It is safe to say that we do not condone cruelty to animals and all of our production process is CRUELTY FREE and VEGAN FRIENDLY.
